DEAR READER — Welcome to the 2015 THORNICO Company Karma Report We look back on the previous year with great amazement; of the changeable conditions in which our companies operate; of the many ups and downs a business year can bring; and of the adaptability of our dedicated people around the world. In this constantly evolving business environment, the need for a common purpose becomes increasingly important. In THORNICO, our common purpose is manifested in our Company Karma philosophy, and in many ways, 2015 strengthened our belief that this is our way forward. A recent study by Harvard Business Review found that there is a business case for purpose, a conclusion that we can only agree to and feel the benefits of every day in our businesses, which this report clearly shows. Throughout the year, we have continued our quest of bringing Company Karma to every corner of our organization, permeating all levels, units and transactions in our business. As part of the strategic work with our core policies, our group companies have developed a number of specific KPIs to be reached by 2018. Only one year after their implementation, we see them moving in the right direction, benefitting our people, the environment and our companies. Yet, it is not only on a company level that we see the increasing value of Company Karma. Thanks to our MyKarma portal, our employees all over the world are also becoming more and more involved, motivating and inspiring each other to be active players in their local communities. Infused with purpose, our employees become motivated, stimulating productivity, which creates better bottom lines - once again proving the business case for purpose. Also with our Company Karma Projects, we have enjoyed wonderful moments. We have seen how people unite through sport to celebrate peace; how the power of light helps rebuild communities; and how a green oasis in the urban jungle inspires a new generation of city dwellers. In 2015, we also brought into focus the continuous discrimination against and need for gender equality for women all around the world by joining UN Women in shedding an orange light on the Danish Little Mermaid. A subject that we are committed to, also within the field of sport through hummel’s sponsorship of the women’s Afghan national team, which in 2016 reaches yet another milestone with the design of a performance driven sports hijab. In 2016, we are also excited to get involved with our newest and largest ever Company Karma Project, where our knowledge of and products within egg processing will provide orphaned children in Swaziland with the vital nutrition they need. We look forward to following these projects in the coming years. Good Energy and Good Karma, Christian Stadil
